Earlier last spring, I partnered with the fantastic Buckhead children’s clothing and gift shop, The Children’s Shop, to do a giveaway. They’re an Atlanta staple, and they actually just celebrated their 3oth anniversary! MHP gave away a summer family session, and The Children’s Shop graciously gave away a gift certificate toward childrens’ outfits for the session. Once the winning family was chosen, we decided to shoot at Cator Woolford Gardens, which is such a hidden gem that is literally right off of Ponce de Leon, but you’d never know it when you’re there… it’s like being in a secret garden. Y’all, the G Family was such a dream… they know how to have some serious fun, and mama did an incredible job styling them for their photos (including floral Little English dresses from The Children’s Shop). I just keep squealing with delight (to myself, of course) over the authentic, joyous, and downright adorable photos I was able to capture of this sweet family. G Family — I so enjoyed our first session together, and I sincerely hope it’s not our last!

Ezra is 6 Months – Smyrna | Atlanta Family Photographer

We photographed Ezra’s 6 month milestone session last month in the sweltering, humid heat that Georgia is famous (infamous?) for… but you’d never know it with the beautiful, authentic photos we got of this sweet family. We found the most beautiful morning light peeking through this line of trees at my favorite nearby park, and their outfit styling was absolutely perfect for a light and airy look. (Props to Jackie for choosing this color scheme and style all on her own!) When I look through this collection of images, not only do I see the most adorable and squishy little boy who was the focus of the session, I see such pure joy and love shared among each of these family members. I also adore that perfect pout from his 2-year-old big sis… couldn’t have planned that better if we’d tried!

Paige’s Baby Bump | Atlanta Maternity Photographer

This post is rather timely, as I just got home from shooting baby Brooks’ newborn session today! We met up for Paige’s maternity session back at the end of July at one of my favorite in-town parks, and it was such a beautiful afternoon. I still can’t get over those shots we got of big brother Rhys kissing his mama’s tummy in anticipation of baby brother on the way… heart melting! This is such a sweet family who I so enjoy working with, and I can’t wait to share the next installment with their newest addition!

My baby is THREE. In so many ways, this third year of her life has flown by infinitely faster than the first two did. Big surprise, right? We’re on the go most days, and she has just started preschool two days a week… which she absolutely loves! She’s big into pretend play right now, so we spend a lot of our time having pretend birthday parties and eating play food that she cooks for us. With each passing month and year, I am more and more grateful for the blessing of staying home with her during this sweet, exhausting phase of life — all while running a business I truly love. I say it with every phase, but this is truly the most fun age so far. It’s bittersweet to watch her getting so big… but it’s even more amazing to watch her grow into her own person.  Leighton Lane, we wish you the happiest of birthdays! We love you “the whole world and the fishies in the sea,” as you say. Thank you for making us parents three years ago, and thank you for making every day my favorite day.
