Kate’s Maternity Session – Old Fourth Ward Park | Atlanta Maternity Photographer

Kate and Brian had one request for their maternity session, and it was fun photos. Easy enough, right? From the variety of backdrops at the Old Fourth Ward Park, to the dad-to-be hanging upside down on playground equipment, to their pup Waldo being so adorably sweet, I think we accomplished the mission.  I’ve had so much fun during this season of shooting because it’s given me the opportunity to explore parts of our city that I’ve not yet had the chance to visit. I look forward to coming back when baby Awsumb arrives soon! Also – how great is their last name?

Kristina’s Maternity Session – Westside | Atlanta Maternity Photographer

I’ve been so excited for this session with parents-to-be Kristina and Mike. Why? Maybe because I’ve been friends with Kristina since the very beginning of our freshman year when we lived on the same dorm hall — and I’ve known Mike since college as well. Maybe because they’re adorable and so sweet and I just can’t wait to meet their little bundle of joy, Molly June, who is due in less than 2 weeks.

We shot their maternity session over on the Westside of Atlanta, which they (and I) love thanks to the great restaurants, shops, and fun vibe. I remembered the “Atlanta Made” wall mural/sign for a local shop over in that area and suggested doing some photos there… kinda perfect for their Atlanta-made baby, right? Equally as perfect was a trip over to Jeni’s Ice Cream, which has been Kristina’s big-time craving throughout her pregnancy. Mike was really in the zone with his ice cream cone, and it was so much fun working with them (and eating some Riesling Poached Pear Sorbet, too!). Enjoy!

Katy’s Maternity Session – Buckhead | Atlanta Maternity Photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting Katy about 4 years ago when I started working as an Independent Stylist with accessories company Stella & Dot. Katy is a fellow Atlanta Stylist, and I just adore her. She and her handsome hubby have two little boys, and they’re now expecting their third… and it’s a girl! I was so excited to work with them on a family maternity session at their home last weekend. The boys were so sweet and fun, and I just can’t get over how much little Jack looks like his mom. It’s pretty obvious that little Emmy is going to be very, very loved when she arrives later this summer!

Erin’s Maternity Session – East Atlanta Village | Atlanta Maternity Photographer

Erin and I worked together several years ago, and we’ve kept in touch since then. When I found out she was pregnant, I asked if she and her husband would be up for a portfolio-building maternity session. They graciously agreed, and we decided to shoot at their house as well as down the street in East Atlanta Village, where there is some really cool street art. The nursery is so cute — it’s outfitted with a sweet castle mural (painted by super talented Dad himself), and baby boy will certainly have plenty of fun dragons to play with as he grows older. Given the nursery theme, it was only fitting that we do some photos in front of this GIANT metal dragon sculpture in EAV. I had a blast working with these adorable parents-to-be, and I can’t wait to meet baby boy Dreiling when he arrives next month!
