Molly’s Newborn Session – Smyrna | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

It’s a pretty amazing thing to witness friends since college become parents for the first time. Molly June had quite the dramatic entrance into the world (8 days late, no less), and Mike and Kristina are just over the moon in love with her. I could have spent all day with them photographing Molly, her absolutely perfect nursery, and the love surrounding her from her parents and her “Go Go.”  We included some special details, like Mike’s handmade baby blanket and a book titled with his namesake, “Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel.” It was nothing short of a joy to have the honor of capturing the Mulligans as a new family of three. Molly is one loved, lucky little girl, and I am thrilled to get to watch her grow up over the coming years.

Jane’s Newborn Session – Buckhead | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Miss Jane Frances was an absolute doll at her newborn session last weekend. She didn’t want to sleep much for us, but I’m sort of glad we got to capture those beautiful blue eyes instead! Big sis Caroline was equally as precious, and I had such a lovely time capturing the Mulwee family as a new family of four. Enjoy!

Seyfred Family + Newborn Lifestyle Session – Tucker | Atlanta Family Photographer

Sarah and Jonathan just had their 3rd child, Ellison Claire, last month. Their son Grayson is six, and their daughter Isabella is just 14 months, so to say that they have their hands full is quite the understatement! My husband is childhood friends with Jonathan, and I actually met him at the beginning of our time at UGA back in 2001 — way before I knew Craig! It’s quite fun to see him with all these kids running (and crawling) around, and I was thrilled to come to their home last weekend to photograph a true lifestyle session for them. Sarah was clear that they’re not “baby in a basket” kind of people (although we did get in a few shots), and they definitely didn’t need any photos of Ellison in that frilly pink tutu I brought along. 🙂 So we kept it real and just shot them as they all naturally interacted and went about their night, including Jonathan cooking a delicious meal of “trailer trash” fried chicken tacos. It was a refreshing, fun evening, and I’m so glad they asked me to document this time for their growing family. There certainly is no shortage of love in the Seyfred house!

Emmy’s Newborn Session – Buckhead | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Meet Emmy Frances – she was just five days old and the sweetest, softest little bundle of joy. It was adorable to witness the excitement that her older brothers Davis and Jack already have about their baby sister — they even sang her a lullaby called “You Are My Baby” to the tune of “You Are My Sunshine.” So cute! Also — a really sweet story I wanted to share: Emmy’s mom Katy told me that the blanket we used in the basket photos below was knitted by her grandfather — yep, her grandfather. Katy’s grandmother, who loved to knit, passed away long before Katy ever had children, so when their first child (Davis) was born, he took knitting classes and learned to make this blanket in Katy’s grandmother’s honor! How incredibly thoughtful is that? Enjoy a peak at Miss Emmy and her beautiful family!

Ryland’s Newborn Session – Marietta | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Some of our good friends in Nashville told me about this nonprofit organization a few months ago called Preemie Prints. Their mission is to support and share hope with preemie, NICU, and angel (those who have had a pregnancy or infant loss) families through a variety of outreach programs. Those programs include the gift of NICU & NICU graduate photography nationwide, all done through volunteer photographers. Knowing several people who have dealt with the struggle of the NICU with their babies, I was thrilled to find this organization to volunteer my services with. My first assignment was with a family in Marietta a few weeks ago.

When the request came to me, this note was sent along from Ryland’s mom, Carrie: “I came down with a condition called the HELLP syndrome. I had to have an emergency C-section at 30 weeks gestation. I was scared for my baby because he was so young and little. He is doing good and gaining weight like crazy. He is currently a little over 4 weeks old (34 weeks gestation). He now weighs 3lbs 7oz! He was put in a crib today!! I have hope that he will come home soon. It has been a long road and we still have a long road ahead of us, but I know he will be fine!”

I so enjoyed getting to know Ryland and his parents, Carrie and Jacob, and I had the best time photographing their little angel. I hope these photos bring them joy for years to come as little Ryland continues to grow!
