Our twins, Collins and Connor, are ONE today! We made it!! What started as the shock of a lifetime when we found out at our first ultrasound that we were having not one, but two babies… continued with another surprise when we found out it was identical girls. What a year it has been since then! Collins and Connor have rocked our family’s world in the best way possible, and we couldn’t imagine life without them. I mean… we would be so bored! The almost nine months leading up to their birth was nothing short of wild. Because of the special type of twin pregnancy that they were, we went to approximately 32 dr appts, about 20 of which were to the perinatal specialist. I had about 18 ultrasounds and 4 NSTs in that time! They’ve been turning heads since the minute (2 minutes apart, actually) that they were born, and things haven’t changed since. They light up the room with their toothy little grins, and I have a feeling we’re about to have a house full of chattering little girls before long. I can’t wait to see what kind of adventures these two and their big sister go on. Collins and Connor are the grand finale to our family, and they are the biggest double blessing that we never knew we needed. Happy first birthday, baby girls. We love you forever and ever!

*A little note about these photos… given that we’re in the midst of a worldwide pandemic with shelter in place orders, we couldn’t exactly go out to some of my favorite shooting locations for their milestone photos. Instead, we popped them in the stroller and walked down to this path in our neighborhood that we have been walking every single day since this stuff started. There have been the most beautiful pink flowers on these trees, and I am so happy we got to do these photos before the rain came later that week and washed most of them away. We also had a little cake smash session in the backyard, but the grass was too enticing for the girls, so we had to move things indoors mid-smash. 🙂 Trying to wrangle and photograph twin one year olds smashing cake with only the help of Daddy proved to be a challenge, but I’m so glad we made it work. Scroll through for the best cake shot at the end.
